The last weekend before the start of actual classes breezed by, with most of it spent just getting organized or hanging out. I used today to haul stuff back to my apartment so now I have a bed, washer/dryer, and a TV. Of course, the washer leaks but progress is being made. I also watched Tucker and Dale vs Evil, which I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys movies like Zombieland or Shaun of the Dead.
When I wake up in the morning, it will be what is probably my last first day of school. Vanderbilt will be the 13th school I have attended in some way shape or form, and unless I have a drastic career change, I don’t plan on enrolling in another school for significant amounts of time. Time to put on that backpack and channel my inner freshman!
Unrelated blog news: I’m going to shift this blog to a more research/news oriented site rather than a personal journal type. I find it easier to share stuff that way so I’m going to give it a try. Have any of you come across problems actually discussing the details of your research/work online?
Good luck with your classes! Looking forward to learning more about your research!

He’s been very open about his work in academia and sharing his papers.
I haven’t talked much about my research on my blog yet, mainly because I’m worried about just how much is allowed, prior publication, I mean. Looking forward to reading about your work. Maybe I’ll get courage to do that too
Good luck on your last first day of school!
I think you should write about both personal (as appropriate to your audiences) and scientific stuff on your blog. I think your blog balances both pretty well as it is. Anyways I love reading your posts haha
